Reception Writing Examples

Why is this writing at the age-related expectation (ARE) for Reception?

• Simple sentences containing 4-6 words.

• Writing is mostly legible with most letters formed correctly (but maybe of varying sizes).

• Most reception common exception words are spelt correctly.  Children us their taught phonics skills to attempt to spell other words.

• Finger spaces between words.
