Special Educational Needs

At Westgate Primary School, we embrace the fact that every child is different and, therefore, the needs of every child are different. We have an experienced and approachable SENDCo who can help with any queries you may have.

 SENDCo hours are Monday afternoons and Thursday and Friday mornings. 

Many steps are taken to support ALL of our children through their learning journey. However, for some children, there are occasions when reasonable adjustments may be needed to help them achieve their targets.

This is certainly the case for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. The provision for an individual with additional needs is designed by the class teacher, the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator (SENDCo), the family and, where necessary, outside agencies.
