WOOSH - Westgate Out Of School Hours Club

Welcome to Westgate's Out of School Hours Club (WOOSH!)

We are an outgoing and energetic after school club, where children feel safe and involved.  They enjoy all the different activities that are provided.

We have a Breakfast Club that runs from 8am until school begins which runs in the school hall.  This is £4 per session.

After School Club runs from 3.15pm to 5:30pm in the Pre-School building on site.  This costs £9 per session until 5.30pm.

At Breakfast Club and After School Club, we make time to talk and play games with the children, often expanding on their interests in the planned activities.

At After School Club we offer a variety of snacks.  After snacks, there is an opportunity for free play including outdoor equipment and activities.  There is ample scope for imaginative play and always the favourites of Hama Beads, collage, drawing, Scalextric etc.  The supervising adults give opportunities for extra activities, often linked with the Scholastic year events.  For example, February was Healthy Hearts month, so we had exercise activities (skipping, Wii Just Dance, musical statues etc.) and an on-going display linked to what makes a healthy heart.

The supervising adults in the Club are Jenny Milburn, Carol Gill, Sue Arnold, Emma Lowe and Jo Arundell.  They all work in school and are well known to the children.

Workplace Childcare vouchers are accepted as payment.

WOOSH have a reward system running where the children earn to tokens (football ones this time) for doing kind deeds for others.

They pick the reward they’re working towards, which this time was a chocolate fountain. 

Miss Milburn and the WOOSH staff make WOOSH such an exciting and fun place to be!
