At Westgate Primary School, we are very fortunate to have such a beautiful school building in which to teach and learn.
As you enter the school, you will come through the blue front door and be greeted with a warm welcome from Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Foster. You will be surrounded by the 'Westgate Tree of Kindness' where each leaf contains an act of kindness that each pupil has received from another child or from an adult working with them in school.
Once you have signed in and been given your visitor badge, you will make your way through into the entrance hall where you will find many balloons, each with a special feature of the school which has been identified by the children. These include trips and visits, sporting events, musical performances, PTA fundraising events and special lessons and topics.
We proudly display our colourful mission statement in our entrance hall and our values are prominently displayed at the front of the hall as a reminder throughout the year. Our values are referenced regularly in our themed assemblies. .
There are installation themed displays in the school. The photographs below show the Roald Dahl themed Lower School corridor.
Throughout the school, there are display boards that are used to celebrate the children's achievements in order to motivate and inspire others. The photograph below shows the 'Westgate In the News' board. The local newspaper photographer commented that he had a 'season ticket for Westgate' because he was with us so often.
