Who will decide whether my child has Special Educational Needs?

In the first instance, your child’s class teacher will raise any concerns that they may have with you and with the school SENDCo.

All children are assessed through the term and their progress is tracked and discussed at termly meetings with the class teacher and senior leadership team.  The SENDCo meets the senior leadership team each term to discuss appropriate support for individuals and groups.

At Westgate Primary School our SENDCo is Mrs Wormington.

The SENDCo is responsible for ensuring that the SEND policy is being put into practice effectively throughout the school. She works with school staff and other professionals to plan additional support and monitor the progress.
